I’m not an interior designer but if i had the chance to go back to my senior year at high school, I would definitely choose Interior Design as my subject to study at University. So this blog is my attempt to immerse myself in Interior Design while discovering past and current interior designers.

I was always surrounded by interior design magazines when I was a kid, thanks to my two aunts - one is an interior designer and the other one is an architect. I used to love looking at the glossy images of beautiful houses and their interiors, and imitate my aunt by drawing imaginary 2D floor plans using her architecture drawing template. Then when I was a bit older, I had The Sims to build huge houses and decorate them for hours or even for days. I don’t think I ever played the actual game properly, I was much more interested in building and decorating my dream house. Nonetheless, it never occurred to me to study interior design and become an interior designer - don’t ask me why as I don’t know! Instead I studied psychology and sociology and then ended up in events.

It was only after I moved to London and filled my bookshelf with issues of interior design magazines - such Cabana Magazine and Architectural Digest - and all sorts of different design books, I started to think about Interior Design as a potential occupation. I’m still not an interior designer but maybe I will one day, who knows! Recently I came across Jennifer Boles’s amazing book, Inspired Design, which inspired me to start this blog and do something related to interiors to have some fun.

Hope you will find it inspiring and interesting.

Love,

N x
